Bhongir Fort is a historic fort located in the Nalgonda district of Telangana, India. It is situated in Bhongir, which is around 48 kilometers from Hyderabad. The fort is also known as Bhuvanagiri Fort as it is situated on a hill in Bhuvanagiri town.

The Bhongir Fort is believed to have been built during the 10th century by the Western Chalukya ruler, Tribhuvana Malla Vikramaditya VI. Later, it was ruled by various dynasties, including the Kakatiyas, Bahmanis, Qutub Shahis, and Asaf Jahis. The fort served as a military base during the rule of these dynasties.

The Bhongir Fort is spread over an area of about 50 acres and is situated at an altitude of around 500 feet above the ground level. The fort has two entry points, one from the south and the other from the east. The entrance from the south is the main entrance and has a magnificent gate, which is also known as the Mughal Gate. The eastern entrance is known as the Nizam Gate and was built during the rule of the Asaf Jahis.

The Bhongir Fort has several structures within its premises, including palaces, temples, mosques, and other buildings. The most prominent among them is the Rani Mahal, which is believed to have been built during the 16th century.
