Trek Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival at Gangotri Your journey starts from the town of Gangotri, which is well-connected by road. After reaching Gangotri, you can explore the town and visit the famous Gangotri Temple.

Day 2: Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak (8 km, 5-6 hours) On the second day, you will start the trek from Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak. The trail passes through dense forests of pine, oak, and rhododendron. You will also cross the beautiful Bhagirathi River on the way.

Day 3: Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak (6 km, 4-5 hours) On day three, the trek continues from Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak. The trail passes through lush green meadows and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 4: Kedar Kharak to Kedartal (4 km, 3-4 hours) The fourth day of the trek takes you to the Kedartal lake, located at an altitude of 4,912 meters. The trail passes through rocky terrain and offers panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Day 5: Explore Kedartal and return to Kedar Kharak (8 km, 5-6 hours) On day five, you can spend some time exploring the Kedartal lake and surrounding areas. After that, you will trek back to Kedar Kharak, where you will camp for the night.

Day 6: Kedar Kharak to Gangotri (14 km, 7-8 hours) The sixth day of the trek takes you back to Gangotri. The trail passes through lush green forests and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 7: Departure from Gangotri On the last day, you will depart from Gangotri and head back home.

Permits and Fees:

A permit is required to trek to Kedartal, which can be obtained from the Forest Department in Uttarkashi. The cost of the permit varies depending on the season and the nationality of the trekker. Additionally, an entry fee is required to enter Gangotri National Park.
