A trip to Jordan is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Why? Because there’s no need for compromise: it allows us to discover a fascinating culture that is only a 5-and-a-half-hour flight from the UK, holds incredible treasures, testimonies of ancient civilizations, as well as varied and beautiful natural landscapes.
In our group trip, we start from Amman, the effervescent capital that will be our first real adventure in Jordan; we have fun like children in the gorges of Wadi Mujib and enjoy the benefits of the waters of the Dead Sea; we then move south, grinding kilometers along the Kings’ Road, passing through the Kerak castle before arriving at the real Treasure of this Middle Eastern country: Petra, the lost city, where we will be able to retrace the footsteps of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Then there is the desert: the immense Wadi Rum, where we will sleep in a tented camp, dine with the Bedouins, and whiz around the dunes in a jeep – it will be an adventure we will not forget! A stop at the Red Sea, to discover its underwater treasures, and we conclude by returning to Amman, where we get lost in the narrow streets of the souks. A journey that will stay close to your heart, forever.
Roundtrip flights are not included in the package, so you can choose from where and when you want to fly. Check-in to your hotel in Amman and then it is time to start this trip right, with food of course! Tonight will be your welcome dinner where you will try out some specialities of the local cuisine.
Included: welcome dinner
It is an early start to make the most of the day, and you're off to go float in the Dead Sea to tick off that bucket list. The Dead Sea water is ten times saltier than the ocean making it much more dense, and as a result people swimming in the water that are less dense in comparison are more buoyant. Sinking won't be an option but a rejuvenating natural mud bath could be!
Let the adventure begin! It is time to hike the Wadi Mujib, a natural reserve that flows into the Dead Sea. You will be trekking against the river current, clambering over the rocks (so be prepared to get wet) until the grand finale....a dip in the impressive waterfall! There are several routes of varying difficulty, so the group can decide what works best for them together 😊
Included: a minivan with driver.
Money Pot: local guide and admission fees if any
Not included: food and beverages
Note: Wadi Mujib hikes are closed from October to March. For the departures between these months, the Travel Coordinator will organize alternative excursions.
In and around Petra
It is an early start today because today you will walk several kilometers towards Petra! Kerak Castle is the second largest castle in the region and, after the Syrian one, is the most important crusader castle in the Middle East. It was considered virtually impregnable, the most strategic place of the country. Its European, Byzantine, and Arabic styles, make it one of a kind.
Siq al-Barid is located a few miles from Petra, where you will find the structures similar to the architecture in Petra, but smaller. The atmosphere takes you back in time, thanks to the ancient divinities depicted in the stone. Now it’s time to discover the handcrafted stalls, souvenirs and local products made by the Bedouins, Petra here we come!

This city will leave you breathless! A beautiful narrow gorge leads you to the famous Treasury, a carved stone structure, built to house the Areta III tomb. Continue your visit by entering the Street of Facades, where more than 40 tombs can be found carved into the rocks. After that, you are off to the top of the Jebel Madbah and then down to see temples, tombs, a palace and a Byzantine Church, famous for its floor mosaics. The ancient Theater boasts a capacity of around 3,000! In the old Roman part of the city, you can admire the Great Temple, dedicated to the Nabatean divinities, Qasr al-Bint ruins, the palace of Pharaoh's daughter and the medieval castle ruins. Along the path that leads to the Monastery, you will see the biggest monument of the entire site: the Winged Lions Temple.

It’s a canyon, also known as Siq, where the inner walls are covered with numerous Nabatean inscriptions and carvings. The extraordinary Um Fruth Bridge, a suspended rock bridge in the middle of the desert, is one of the most photographed spots in Jordan.
