Itinerary

Our meeting point is Split, Mediterranean city with 1700 years old history known for its stunning Diocletian’s palace. You will be picked up by your guides anywhere you stayed in or around city of Split and follow them to the meeting point from which we will hit the ferry port and hop on the ferry to island of Brač. Situated less than an hour from Split, Brač is the third largest among Adriatic islands well known for it's white stone quarries, beautiful beaches and charming small rustic villages. Just as a curiosity, the stone from Brač has been quarried since the time of Roman rule until today, and it was used for building many well-known buildings such as Vienna’s Parliament and White house. A ride through Brač will show its vivid landscape dominated by a karst limestone relief, rocky ground and evergreen underbrush. This rocky landscape is also full of rich history. It's slopes are hiding a couple of true cultural gems such as Dragon’s cave – an excellent monument of monastic life inside the cave embossed with mysterious reliefs, and Blaca desert – monastery with houses for various domestic purposes built on a scarce karst limestone by monks in the 16th century. Not only does Brač have a beautiful inland, but it's coast is also quite breathtaking: Zlatni rat (Golden horn beach) with it's unique shape and clear blue sea around it is one of most recognizable pebble beaches in Croatia. All this is just a tiny bit of what could be called as ’’best of’’ on this amazing island. Our today route is 30 km which can be modify by you in cooperation with your guides. Founded by Ionian Greeks in the 4th Century BC, and inhabited ever since, Hvar is an island that really has everything. It is a luxurious beach destination with vivid night life, as well as destination for those who love to enjoy peaceful nature and beautiful scenery of lavender fields. Culture and history lovers should know that Hvar also has one of the oldest theaters in Europe, and it has three phenomena on UNESCO’s world heritage list: a night procession ’’Za križem’’, Stari Grad plain (Old City’s Plain) - a cultural landscape that has remained intact since it was first colonized by Ionian Greeks, and an incredible Hvars’ lace made of agave - handwork made by nuns from the Benedictine Monastery. After the breakfast we will jump on private boat and we continue our journey southward and our next stop is one of most popular island destinations in Croatia: Korčula. Inhabited in the 4th century BC as a Greek colony, Greeks named Korcula Corkyra Melaina (melaina meaning black), because of it's dense pine forest, characteristic for this truly Mediterranean island where people are still living closely connected with the sea. This is an island of shipbuilders and stone masonry whose quality white limestone has been incorporated in famous buildings such as Haggia Sophia in Istanbul; it is also an island of good wines that grow on the sunny slopes as well as of homemade delicacies; an island where young people are dancing sword dances that mesmerize with performer’s moves, and where locals are openhearted and friendly. On the western point of Korčula, Vela Luka is situated – a town with a large bay whose entrance guards Proizd island. Its pebble beaches with crystal clear turquoise sea are mostly described as heaven. Passing the island from west to its eastern point, Korčula uncovers beautiful small villages, vineyards, pine forest and many bays and hidden coves that can be seen from the main road. On eastern part of the island stands the old town of Korčula, a legendary hometown of explorer Marco Polo hiding inside its thick stone walls many other stories, legends, one majestic Gothic-Baroque cathedral, and other sights worth visiting. Just be careful, old town has left many first-time visitors breathless! Today on our bike ride we will see a lot of vineyards, small villages, farms on which we will have olive oil degustation with some snacks. Since we have a lunch at beautifull familly run restoraunt so close to sea it would be a shame to not take a swimm after the meals.

Planned route distance: 40 km

Overnight stay: 4* hotel

After a good night rest at Kočula we are moving further south to reach our ultimate goal: Dubrovnik. Before our goal there is a couple of more interesting places and towns that we will pass through. Leaving Korčula we are heading to Pelješac peninsula which abounds in natural beauty, pebble beaches, good seafood (especially oysters) and red wine. Away from everyday crowd Pelješac offers tranquility and peaceful surrounding with vineyards as unavoidable scenery. Production of high quality wines based on experience and tradition here is one of the most important activities. At the end of Pelješac peninsula lays Ston – a small town known for salt plants from the 14th century which are the oldest in Europe, and strong stone walls, the second largest in the world right after The Great Wall of China. From Ston next bigger city is Dubrovnik. Featured by perfectly preserved city walls, defensive forts and Baroque houses whose red rooftops are symbol of Dalmatia, there is no wonder why this UNESCO’s World Heritage Site is often referred as The Pearl of Adriatic. Dubrovnik’s city walls, it's cathedral, Main Square, Rector’s Palace and other sights have never left visitor indifferent, so this is a perfect city to end your six day adventure in, and to have one more look at the blue Adriatic Sea that has followed you through the whole trip.

Planned route distance: 40 km, Shuttle to Dubrovnik 1 hour

Overnight stay: 5* hotel

Highlights: Korta Katarina wine house, wine region, Ston Walls, Dubrovnik sightseeing, Stradun, breakfast, lunch in Ston, dinner in Dubrovnik.
