Your guide will collect you from your Galway hotel. Meet one of our local friends for a Walkin’ Talkin’ Tastin’ tour of Galway! Have them point out all their favourite spots while trying traditional Irish cuisine, tasting locally distilled gin and learning about the rich history of Galway.

Spend free time this afternoon trying on Claddagh rings and Galway shawls, pass through The Spanish Arch and hear tales of Gaelic bards and visit Galway's ancient fishing village. These tiny streets are home to many a great restaurant and lively pub.

Total estimated driving time: None!/

Fed and watered, it’s off to nearby Rossaveal Pier to catch the ferry to Inis Mor (literally ‘big island’), the largest of the Aran Islands.

Here you can explore the 6km by 2km island by bike or by special request, a jaunting cart with your very own driver and pony. It’s off to Dún Aonghasa, a prehistoric hill fort which dominates the edge of a vertical cliff, 300 ft above the choppy waters of the Atlantic.

Refresh "le cupán tae"(a cup of tea) and island porter cake and shop for an original Aran Sweater, perfect for shearwater and other seabird watching.

Tonight you will sleep like a King or Queen at the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel. Be brought back in history with stories of Abbeyglen and the surrounding Clifden area, in an evening toast. A castle stay is a must while you're in Ireland!

Connemara National Park is calling and The Lost Valley, a deserted famine village where the road literally runs out.

As we plough through rugged Connemara, we’ll make for Kylemore Abbey, a working Benedictine abbey built on the grounds of an 18th century castle. It has had more than a few past lives and boasts an imposing position at the foot of Druchruach Mountain, overlooking Kylemore Lake.

We start heading for Westport, nestled between the Carrowbeg river and in the shadow of Croagh Patrick. After a spot of lunch you're off toward Yeats' home county, Sligo. You'll stop along the way to take in the many sites used as inspiration for the poet before landing in the hills of Donegal Town for the evening. Located between the near mountains and the sea this town has all of it to offer and more!

Embark on a wonderful day where we drive over the stunning Glengesh Pass and Assaranca Waterfall. Discover remote stunning beaches, hidden caves and amazing views all around. Continue your exploration of the gorgeous hills of Donegal at the newly established Ardara Distillery. Learn about the tradition of whiskey and even have a taste of what Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw described as “liquid sunshine”.

Our next stop is Derry. Northern Ireland’s second-largest city, which is steeped in rich Irish history. We provide a walking tour of the city, helping visitors to learn about the Troubles. Derry is also here where we will spend the evening. Enjoy the amazing restaurants Derry has on offer.

Kick off your day with one of the many 'Game of Thrones' locations, the Dark Hedges, Dunluce Castle, and Ballintoy Harbour. Then it’s off to the Giant’s Causeway, a natural world heritage site, formed by a volcanic eruption, 60 million years ago. Learn about the legend that was the burly giant, Fionn MacCool.

You head to your last night on tour (don't cry yet) in Belfast City. There’s an optional but must-see ‘Black Cab’ Tour; an intimate way to see this beautiful city, once bomb-ravaged during the ‘Troubles’. Hear first-hand accounts of the conflict as you navigate former political hotspots and murals. If you’d rather do your own thing, go rogue and check out the busy shops, The Ulster Museum or the Parliament Buildings at Stormont.

Total estimated driving time: 3 hours excluding stops

Cue drum roll, as it’s full tilt ahead for the Titanic experience at Titanic Belfast. You may descend the famous staircase, peruse a first-class menu and explore the shipyards in this splendid interactive experience, set in the birth-place of this ill-fated vessel. From Belfast we head to Newgrange, a monumental passage tomb, where if its walls could talk, they’d tell you stories older than the Egyptian pyramids.

As our guides take you back to The Capital, they’ll give you tips and recommendations if you plan to stay on in Dublin. Goodbyes will have to be said but it’s slán go fóill, (see you soon), from all of us at Overland Tours.

The currency of Ireland is the Euro (€). It is the official currency of both the Republic of Ireland and several other European Union (EU) member states. The Euro is abbreviated as "EUR." Ireland adopted the Euro as its national currency on January 1, 1999, replacing the Irish pound (punt). Since then, it has been the sole legal tender used for all financial transactions in the country.

The best time to visit Ireland is during the shoulder seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to October).
