Cameron Highlands  a hill resort with large tea plantations, farmlands,  lakes, waterfalls, wildlife, aborigines. It was discovered by British Geologist Sir William Cameron in 1885.  Tea Plantations are instrumental in drawing visitors to the highlands, and they work closely with Nature societies as in WWF in the conservation of our endangered animals. A wonderful idea to sip tea perched on an elevated tea café to catch a bird’s eye view of the lush carpet of greenery below. Some rare butterflies, stick insects, beetles, scorpions, spiders are live at the Butterfly Farm.  The walk down to marketplace to see various vegetables, fruits and flowers is exciting. Penang Island a major tourist destination.  2 Bridges link the island with the mainland. Apart from Malay, Chinese and Indian communities, there are also Eurasian, Siamese and expatriates. Georgetown cited as a UNESCO Heritage City is the capital of Penang. It’s a high tech manufacturing entity giving trade incentives for foreign investments. The main attractions are Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Chinese Temple, Clan Jetties, Fort Cornwallis.  Trishaw ride through Georgetown – the UNESCO capital of Penang is exciting.
