Itinerary

Upon arrival City tour (panoramic + by walk) with airport transfer. The tour begins with a panoramic sightseeing of the main sites and squares of Belgrade. Visit the Temple of St. Sava, the largest Orthodox Christian church in the world. Continue through Slavija Square and enter the beating heart of Belgrade, where the National Parliament and the Old Royal Court are. Pass by Nikola Pašić Square to reach Republic Square and hear the story about the liberation of Belgrade from Ottoman rule in front of the Monument of Prince Mihailo. Take a stroll through Knez Mihailova pedestrian street and discover outstanding architecture and hidden masonic symbols. Take a coffee break at the city’s oldest tavern, the famous “?” inn before we continue to the very heart of Belgrade. Visit lavish Orthodox Cathedral to reveal the true Serbian spirit.

We will continue our tour at the very place where Belgrade was born: magnificent Belgrade Fortress and surrounding Kalemegdan Park. Enjoy our stroll through beautiful alleys as we reach the two millenia old ramparts. Hear the fantastic stories about ancient Celts and Romans, soak the atmosphere of Medieval times and see the remnants of the great struggle for Belgrade’s liberty as we walk through many gates and corridors. Visit the holy complex of St Petka Chapel and Rose Church to hear extraordinary legends of the past. Enjoy the spectacular view over the confluence of Sava into Danube River before we embark to a cruise on two beautiful rivers.

Finish in Zemun district, which used to be a separate city until 50 years ago. Enjoy the walk through the cobbled streets to Gardoš Tower for a magnificent panorama over Belgrade.

After breakfast, an hour-and-a-half drive to Novi Sad. Visit the centre of the Serbian northern province Vojvodina – beautiful Novi Sad. Often referred to as the “Serbian Athens” because of its significant impact on Serbian culture, Novi Sad is a perfect place for art & culture enthusiasts. Join us on a tour of Serbian cultural heritage as we walk along the picturesque streets of Sremski Karlovci, and hear about glorious clashes between two great empires at the ramparts of Petrovaradin Fortress.

The second largest city of Serbia, Novi Sad, is also known as „Serbian Athens“ because of its great cultural role during XVIII and XIX centuries. We will explore this beautiful city from its City Core as we stroll down the Zmaj Jovina pedestrian zone. Stop at the Liberty Square to hear the story of unification and admire extraordinary buildings from Baroque and Art Nouveau, such as the Cathedral, Episcopic Palace and many more.

Continue to Petrovaradin fortress, the largest fortification on Danube river. Hear the breathtaking stories of the rivalry between Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires, which culminated at the ramparts of this very fortress.

Continue down the Danube to town of Sremski Karlovci, very soul of Serbian XVIII century cultural heritage. See the First Serbian Gymnasium, Partiarch’s Court, stroll along the cobbled streets to the Fountain of Four Lions, visit the very first place where round table was first used in diplomacy.

At the very end, we will try out some of the best wines Balkan has to offer, made from grapes from Mt Fruska Gora. With centuries long tradition, these wines are still served on the most eminent Royal courts of Europe. Drive back to Belgrade and overnight.

After breakfast, we depart for Central Serbia. Nested in the very heart of Serbia, the small town of Topola discretely keeps the memory of the heroic liberation of Serbia. Discover the fabulous land of Sumadija province, covered in vineyards and orchards. Explore the Rebels Town, the starting point of Serbian Liberation and admire the magnificent Church of St George, a mausoleum of the Serbian Royal dynasty of Karadjordjevic. Taste some of the best wines in Europe.

There is a small place which took the burden of liberating the nation. Settled at the very heart of Serbia, the small picturesque town of Topola will reveal to you the true heroic soul of Serbia. Topola's surroundings carry the flattering title „Serbian Tuscany“, as home of the highest quality wines in Balkans.

Visit XIV century Tresije monastery, founded by king Milutin Nemanjic, to hear the heartbreaking story of the Great exodus of Serbs in XVIII century.

Continue to Topola and visit Rebel Town, the first capital of liberated Serbia and headquarters of Serbian ruler Djordje Petrovic Karadjordje.

Walk round to Royal hill of Oplenac to visit a magnificent St. George’s church, mausoleum of Serbian Royal dynasty Karadjordjevic. Admire mosaics made of millions of pieces in over 15.000 different shades. Visit the house of King Peter I Karadjordjevic for a glimpse on XX century Serbian Kingdom.

Visit world famous „Tarpoš“ winery for the taste of genuine Serbian wines, and enjoy the fruitful tastes of „Lipar“, „Menuet“, „1804“ – the genuine wines of Sumadija combined with fantastic Serbian specialties. Overnight in Belgrade.
