Sweden, officially known as the Kingdom of Sweden, is a Scandinavian country located in Northern Europe. It is known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, vibrant cities, rich history, and high standard of living. With a population of approximately 10 million people, Sweden offers a unique blend of modernity and tradition.
You can travel to Båstad by public transport or you can come by car (within easy reach by train from Copenhagen (Denmark) too). If you come by car, you can park at the Båstad station and take a local bus to your accommodation. Båstad is one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts.
The independent hiking tour begins with a slightly longer stage. If you want to shorten the hike, you can pre-book a transfer to Norrvikens Trädgårdar. From the accommodation, you walk through Båstad along the seaside. You pass the marina and Skansenbadet's impressive sandy beach. At Norrviken's gardens, the trail leaves the coast and goes up Hallandsåsen with dense forests full of life, ridges, meadows and pastures. The landscape is open and hilly. At Høv Hallar you return to the coast. Along the coastal strip, there are several burial mounds from the Bronze Age. You continue towards the extreme tip of the Bjäre Peninsula, where the picturesque fishing village Torekov is located. You might end the day with a visit to the accommodation's SPA. Torekov is still a fishing village but it is today known as a summer resort.
The hike from Solsidan by Torekov continues into the southern nature reserve of Bjärekusten. The trail takes you over coastal meadows, over cobblestone fields, sandy beaches and past idyllic small villages. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Kullaberg's mighty silhouette on the other side of Skälderviken. On a clear day, you can see many shifts in the sky, sea and mountain. The hike goes along the seaside all day and there are many great opportunities for swimming. Along the trail, you pass several smaller ports before you reach Vejbystrand and your accommodation for the night.
The day starts with a half-hour transfer to Utvälinge and the start of Kullaleden. You walk through cozy small residential areas, mixed with sandy beaches, meadows and pastures. You walk almost all day along the seaside, with a few exceptions. You continue with a little asphalt walking through the residential area along the coast of Jonstorp and Rekekroken. If the weather is clear, you have the opportunity to see Hallands Väderö and Torekov on the Bjäre Peninsula. After Svanshall, the hiking trail leads you through woods, meadows and along the sea.
After breakfast, continue your hike through the hilly landscape of the beech forest. Between the trees, beautiful views of Skälderviken can be seen. If you have a lot of energy in your legs, you can visit Nimis, the well-known work of art made of driftwood. Just before Kullen's lighthouse, you will pass Josefinelust, with a viewpoint down to the beautiful pebble beach and the neighboring caves. You continue the descent through the nature reserve until you reach the small historic seaside resort of Mölle.
From Mölle, you follow the independent hiking trail along paths and gravel roads along the Swedish sea coast. If the weather is nice, you will be able to see Denmark in front of you. You can opt to take a detour to visit Krapperup Castle with its moat and beautiful park. You walk past some small, cozy villages located along the coast, including Lerhamn and Nyhamnsläge, before you arrive at Höganäs and your accommodation for the night.
Today you have an incredibly beautiful hike in front of you. Not particularly physically demanding, but you will have lovely views throughout the day. You will see Denmark on the other side of the strait, with Kronborg Castle in Elsinore getting closer and closer. It will be a walk along beaches, through small harbors and cozy villages, including Lerberget, Viken and Domsten. Just north of Helsingborg is Sofiero Castle with its impressive garden. If you want to make a longer visit to the park or want to shorten the day's hike, the city buses go into the center of Helsingborg just outside the entrance to Sofiero. The last six kilometers you walk through forests and parks before you reach Helsingborg, the pearl of Öresund.
After breakfast, it's time to go home. You can easily continue your travels from Helsingborgs Central, which is only a short walk from your accommodation.
