Itinerary

Upon arrival at Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, you will be welcomed by your driver and escorted to the hotel. On the short coach ride from the Nikola Tesla airport, sit back, relax and enjoy the sights of New Belgrade with its prominent ‘blocks’ – a classic example of Socialist architecture, built after the World War II – and modern business centers, including the imposing Ušće Tower. Along the way, you will pass by some of the most iconic buildings such as the Western Gate of Belgrade, the famous Belgrade Arena and the monumental Palace of Serbia. Hotel check in.

At 7pm meet your guide and the rest of the group at the hotel’s reception for a tour info-meeting. Our reccomendation for the evening: take a short, leisurely walk through one of the oldest quarters towards the bohemian heart of Belgrade - Skadarlija. In this charming, 19th century cobbled street you will find many ‘kafanas’, a traditional cafe-bar, where you can try delicious local specialties while listening to a traditional music. Or perhaps walk down to the bank of river Sava and enjoy a stretch of buzzing, modern bars and cafes in the newest developement of the city: Belgrade Waterfront. Overnight stay in Belgrade.

After breakfast, you will embark on a tour (driving and walking) around Belgrade, a capital city well known for its various architectural styles, dynamic history and a fantastic view of the confluence of rivers Sava and the Danube, one of largest in Europe. Start the tour visiting the Museum of Yugoslav History, a memorial complex devoted to the life and deeds of Josip Broz Tito, the political leader of Yugoslavia. Next, you will pass by the stadium of FC Red Star – the former European and World Cup champions, and proceed to the Temple of Saint Sava, Belgrade’s patron saint. Very much a symbol of the city, this impressive building can be seen from any part of the capital.

After a short break at the Temple’s plateau, the panoramic tour will then take you from Slavija Square, to Saint Mark’s Church, the Serbian National Parliament and White Palace, and on to Republic Square. This most central point of Belgrade is surrounded by such cultural institutions as the National Theatre and National Museum. The tour will then head along the lively Knez Mihailo Street, the main pedestrian and shopping zone, before stopping for a visit to the Orthodox Cathedral Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, which is located just across from the Building of Patriarchate. Your guide will tell you about the tavern around the corner, the oldest in the city and intriguingly known as “?” (Question Mark), before continuing to Kalemegdan Park and Belgrade Fortress, the most important cultural-historic complex of the city, situated on the confluence of the rivers Sava and the Danube.

We will spice up the tour with a visit to the Belgrade Urban Distillery and rakija tasting. Distillery is located in the historical neighborhood of Dorćol and it is the first open-space distillery in Serbia, where direct on-site production of rakija is made for customers. You will taste authentic flavors of Serbian rakija and hear interesting stories about this traditional spirit. Overnight stay in Belgrade.

Breakfast and check out. Free time in Belgrade until departure to Vojvodina, a province in the north of Serbia. You will be driven through picturesque scenery and Serbia’s famous wine region towards the ‘Serbian Holy Land’, home to 17 functioning Serbian Orthodox monasteries. You will visit the well preserved, beautiful monastery Krušedol.

The tour continues to the town of Sremski Karlovci, where your accommodation, Lala Vineyard Glamping Resort is situated. Overlooking the Danube, amongst vineyards and orchards and minutes away from Fruška Gora National Park, the first-ever glamping resort in Serbia awaits you. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon by the heated saltwater pool or explore Sremski Karlovci, a romantic, historical town famous for wine making. Overnight stay at the glamping resort.

Breakfast. This morning is free for your preferred activity: hiking, cycling, swimming or simply unwinding with a book on your private terrace. In the afternoon, Lala Vineyard Glamping Resort will welcome you to an exclusive wine workshop with renowned sommelier Aleksandar Marinković, who will take you on an educational, but fun journey through 4 selected wine varieties from Fruška Gora wine region. We will start with a local sparkly wine from the town of Irig, continue with the fresh, breezy, and fragrant White from the village of Mala Remeta, move on to the Rose from Sremski Karlovci, and conclude with a deep, powerful, and voluptuous coupage of Red from Sremska Mitrovica. Locally sourced pastries, cheese and cold cuts will accompany this fantastic selection.

Your visit continues in the town of Sremski Karlovci. A real gem of Serbian culture and spirituality, Sremski Karlovci feels like a ‘museum town’ with its Baroque centre, the Patriarchal Court, the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas and the first Serbian secondary school (gymnasium). For you, we have chosen to visit to two boutique wineries - Kiš, the oldest one, and Djurdjic, the youngest one, where a traditional dinner will be served. Drive back and overnight stay at the glamping resort.

Today you will explore the most interesting sights of Serbian Northern Province. Our first stop, Subotica is the second largest city in Vojvodina province, located in Pannonian basin in extreme north of Serbia. The city of Secession, cultural heritage, and multicultural spirit, presents a must-see during your trip to Serbia. Besides the City Hall, you’ll feel the charm of the city through its architecture: we will pass by the Freedom Square, National Theater, Serbian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension, Subotica’s Synagogue, City Museum and others.

For wine tasting, you will visit the pearl of secessionist architecture, the Zvonko Bogdan Winery. The magnificent building, which clearly points to the almost inevitable blend of wine and art, was built in the style of traditional architecture of the nearby town of Subotica. This winery is built with two main goals: the production of top-quality local wine and the comfort and delight of its guests.

Further on, you will visit the 2021 European Capital of Culture, Novi Sad. Located on the historical border of two former empires – the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman – as a result, the capital of Vojvodina is a multi-cultural city with an interesting mix of architectural influences. On the sightseeing tour, you will walk around the city’s pedestrian zone, past the City Hall, a Catholic church, the old city center and a synagogue. Then you’ll follow the right bank of the Danube and visit Petrovaradin, or the so-called ‘Danube’s Gibraltar’, where the fortress is located. Overnight at the Lala Vineyard Glamping resort.

Breakfast and free time in the morning.

In the afternoon, you will continue exploring the wineries of Fruška Gora. Back in the 3rd Century, Roman soldiers planted the first vineyards on the slopes of Fruška Gora mountain ( highest peak only 539m), whose legacy continues to present day.

First, you will visit Erdevik winery on the western slopes of the mountain. The first cellar of Erdevik winery was built by an Italian nobleman in 1826 and today, it is one of the best wineries in the country. After that, you will visit Kovacevic winery and its cellar, built in 1930 followed by a visit to their restaurant. Drive back to Lala Vineyard Glamping Resort and an overnight stay.

Breakfast and the check-out. Transfer to Belgrade Airport. Departure.
